Let's Do It Again

Written and produced by Curtis Mayfield and released on his Curtom label, collaboration "Let's Do It Again" was originally part of the soundtrack to the film of the same name starring Jimmie "Dynamite!" Walker, Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier (who also directed the film). The song's sexual subject matter was controversial with old school Staples fans who were rooted in the church, but the song remains in the group's canon. Mavis Staples' voice from the song was sampled in 2011 by Star Slinger, but she isn't suing: "Her manager played the remix I did and she actually liked it!" Darren "Star Slinger" Williams said with enthusiasm.
