Kool & the Gang Return With Funky New Song 'Sexy'

Kool & the Gang have released their funky new track "Sexy (Where'd You Get Yours)," the funk soul legends' first new single in nearly a decade.

Kool & the Gang have released their new track "Sexy (Where'd You Get Yours)," the funk-soul legends' first new single in nearly a decade. 

"Sexy" signifies a modernization of Ronald and Robert "Kool" Bell and company's unmistakable sound, right down to the dance floor-tailored bass grooves and the perfectly timed horns. The single comes from Kool & the Gang's upcoming studio LP, their first album of original music since 2007's Still Kool; the Christmas album Kool for the Holidays arrived in 2013.

Kool & the Gang will debut their new single live alongside classics "Jungle Boogie," "Get Down on It" and "Celebration" as part of a Today show medley on Thursday. Download "Sexy" over at iTunes and other digital retailers starting July 15th.

In addition to their new album, Kool & the Gang will hit the road this summer with Bootsy Collins' Rubber Band, Morris Day & the Time, Big Daddy Kane and Doug E. Fresh as part of the Keeping the Funk Alive tour this summer. Check out the tour dates for that trek below:
