Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg and William Shatner will make appearances in Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale, the singer's holiday TV special, next month. Joining them will be Danica Patrick, Heidi Klum and Jay Leno as well as a bevy of country stars, including Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire and Trisha Yearwood, according to The Associated Press. The show is set to air on NBC at 10 p.m. EST on December 11th.
The program intends to tell a comedic story, with music of course, that explains what Christmas means. A show within a show, the program depicts Clarkson hosting a holiday special in what AP describes as a scheme to boost her popularity but instead she learns "an important lesson." It will also serve as a showcase for songs like "Silent Night" and "White Christmas" from Clarkson's recent Christmas album, Wrapped in Red.
In other holiday-related Clarkson news, the singer tweeted yesterday that she has received the "best early Christmas present ever." That is to say, "I'm pregnant!!!" She did not tweet a due date or any other information, such as the baby's gender.
Clarkson married Brandon Blackstock – stepson of Clarkson's holiday special guest Reba McEntire and son of Clarkson's manager, Narvel Blackstock – last month. The couple was married at Blackberry Farms near Knoxville, Tennessee. She announced the news with an emoticon-punctuated tweet proclaiming, "I'm officially Mrs. Blackstock."
