Kanye West is currently under investigation for battery charges, which stemmed from an altercation in Beverly Hills yesterday. The Los Angeles Times reports that the incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. and that the Beverly Hills police have several witnesses, including the victim, identifying West as a person involved in the scuffe.

According to TMZ, the fight broke out when an unidentified man tried to help West's fiancee Kim Kardashian wade through the paparazzi as she was entering a chiropractor's office. Words were exchanged, and the man started using racial slurs towards Kardashian in regards to West. By that time, West had shown up, and allegedly the fight occurred shortly thereafter.

Should West be charged, it would mark the second time in recent months that he's been in a public altercation that's lead to an arrest. Last year, West got in a much publicized fight with a photographer — though he pled not guilty this past November. The case is still pending and scheduled to return to court on January 23rd.

In more positive Kanye news, he's scheduled to resume his acclaimed Yeezus tour next month. The first stop is on February 9th at the Bryce Jordan Center on the campus of Penn State. He's reportedly working on a new album, too, that will only consist of eight songs

Tune-Yards | 2011

The opening track to Merrill Garbus’ second album under the Tune-Yards banner (she also plays in the trio Sister Suvi), “Bizness” is a song about relationships that is as colorful as the face paint favored by Garbus both live and in her videos. Disjointed funk bass, skittering African beats, diced-and-sliced horns and Garbus’ dynamic voice, which ranges from playful coos to throat-shredding howls, make “Bizness” reminiscent of another creative medium. “I'd like for them not to be songs as much as quilts or collages or something,” Garbus said.
