Justin Bieber has found himself in a sticky situation after photographs emerged of the teen pop idol smoking what appears to be marijuana, Us Weekly reports.

The photos of Bieber at a Newport Beach hotel party were taken on January 2nd, the day after a paparazzi was hit by a car and killed while attempting to photograph the 18-year-old singer's white Ferrari. TMZ published the pictures on Friday night and reported that Bieber's friend Lil Twist, who was driving Bieber's car at the time of the accident, was also at the party.

While Bieber has not addressed the pot accusations directly, he posted a series of contrite-sounding messages on Twitter shortly after the photos were published. "everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up," he wrote to his followers. "i see all of u. i hear all of u. i never want to let any of you down. i love u. and..thank u."

“Fantasy”

Mariah Carey | 1995

Serendipity stuck when Mariah Carey rediscovered the glitchy Tom Tom Club hook, a sample of which is the heart of this upbeat slice of dance pop. "I had the melody idea for 'Fantasy' and I was listening to the radio and heard 'Genius of Love,' and I hadn't heard it in a long time," Carey said. "It reminded me of growing up and listening to the radio and that feeling the song gave me seemed to go with the melody and basic idea I had for 'Fantasy.' I initially told [co-writer] Dave Hall about the idea, and we did it. We called up the Tom Tom Club and they were really into it."
