"The song 'Hold Out' began as a purely electronic track for a friend's film that didn't end up getting used. I wrote it really quickly and didn't realize that I was subconsciously channeling a lot of things I was going through in my relationship at the time," Caught a Ghost's Jesse Nolan tells Rolling Stone. "The lyrics deal with getting someone to open up to you after you have been relentlessly pursuing them."
