Hear Moderat's Hypnotic 'III' Single 'Reminder'

Berlin-based electronic music project is releasing third album in April

Listen to Moderat's hypnotic new single, "Reminder," off their upcoming third LP, 'III'

Moderat, the collaborative project between members of German electronic artists Modeselektor and Apparat, has debuted the sparse, powerful new single "Reminder." The track will appear on the trio's third LP III, due April 1st via Monkeytown Records.

"Reminder" is the first taste of Moderat's first full-length album since 2013's II. The track starts off minimalistic with tribal percussion before building into a more grandiose, atmospheric tune for the choruses. The single will be released digitally on February 19th and on vinyl February 26th with b-side "Fondle." Remixes of "Reminder" by Special Request and Answer Code Request are due in March.

Moderat will also be touring extensively in support of the album. They will be in Europe from March through May, when they play at New York City's Webster Hall. Following the NYC gig, the group will play only select cities in North America over the course of May's last two weeks.

Modeselektor and Apparat originally fused together for the supergroup in 2002 when they released their debut EP Auf Kosten der Gesundheit. Their debut eponymous LP was released in 2009, and Moderat has steadily released EPs in between their soon-to-be three albums ever since. Most recently, they released Bad Kingdom Remixes in 2014.

Both respective acts have released work independently as well. Modeselektor debuted the compilation Modeselektion Vol. 03 in 2014, but their most recent LP was 2011's Monkeytown, which featured a pair of collaborations with Radiohead's Thom Yorke. Apparat most recently debuted music under that solo moniker in 2013 with the album Music for Theatre.
