Calvin Harris is prepping for summer early with the release of his second single of the year, the funky, "Heatstroke" featuring Young Thug, Ariana Grande and Pharrell Williams. "Heatstroke" follows up last month's "Slide" featuring Frank Ocean and Migos.
The soulful, Motown-inspired single, has Young Thug nimbly rapping the verses as Grande and Williams tenderly harmonize in their sweetest falsettos on the chorus. Background vocals were provided by Starrah, who also co-wrote the song with Williams, Young Thug and Harris. "When you do things like this/And you set me free/How can anyone get tired?" Grande and Williams sing together, with Grande's voice on the topline.
"All my songs in 2017 have been sonically designed to make you feel fucking incredible," Harris tweeted upon the release of "Slide." The superstar DJ-producer is clearly experimenting outside of the more synthesized sound of his biggest hits, but he has yet to announce plans for a full-length album, which would be his first since 2014's Motion.
