With headlining performances by Foo Fighters, Zac Brown Band and Skrillex, the sixth annual Hangout Music Festival will be a particularly loud one, when it sets up camp on the beachfront of Gulf Shores, Alabama this spring. Beck, My Morning Jacket, Foster the People and Spoon are also set to perform.
In total, more than 70 artists and bands will take the fest's stages, which are set up literally in the sand of the beach and positioned around amusement-park rides, over the course of its three days. This year's fest will also feature sets by TV on the Radio, Jenny Lewis, Lupe Fiasco, Galactic with Macy Gray, Umphrey's McGee, Father John Misty, Major Lazer, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Phantogram, Drive-by Truckers and St. Lucia. The whole lineup is available on the fest's website.
This year's Hangout Music Fest will take place between May 15th and the 17th. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. CST today, January 13th.
Foo Fighters recently played their first U.S. tour date of 2015 at L.A.'s the Forum with a bevy of guests including David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmster, Kiss' Paul Stanley and many others. The group is headed to Europe next and the group's July 4th Washington, D.C. extravaganza – which will find it headlining a show with support coming from Joan Jett, LL Cool J, Heart and many others – was supposed to kick off its North American tour. Now, with its Hangout headlining slot booked, it looks as though the band will be back at it much earlier than they had originally suggested.
