With their loud guitars and liberal use of pyro, country tours today often call to mind the arena-rock bands of the Eighties. It's not much of a surprise then that a country tribute album to hair-metal pioneers Mötley Crüe is on its way. Due July 8th, Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe assembles artists including Florida Georgia Line, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker and Brantley Gilbert to cover some of the Crüe's biggest hits.
Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil contributed vocals to the album's first single, a duet on the 1985 radio staple "Home Sweet Home" with Justin Moore. The two previously performed the mother of all power ballads during Country Radio Seminar week in February in Nashville and during an ACM week concert in April in Las Vegas.
"This project is the most random thing I've ever been approached to do in my career," Moore tells Rolling Stone Country. "But at the same time one of the most fun experiences. I'm a traditional guy, but at the end of the day, I'm a big fan of classic great songs and artists who connect. And you can't argue that these guys are in the top 15 bands of all time."
