"I had already recorded the vocals for this with Anne Lise Frøkedal from the band Harrys Gym in Oslo and then spent two weeks in a remote studio in the beautiful Norwegian countryside working on this song and some others," Hugo Manual, a.k.a. Chad Valley, explains to Rolling Stone. "I like to think that the scenery had something to do with the way this song sounds. I later revised the song and rerecorded a lot of it, to help it fit in with the rest of the album, but I was keen to keep this version for posterity."
