U.K.-based punk group Sharks will release their Rise Records debut, No Gods, on March 20th. To promote it, they'll hit the road with Social Distortion and Frank Turner in Las Vegas on January 27th, for a February West Coast tour.
No Gods' lead single is the upbeat guitar-heavy "Arcane Effigies," which Sharks' singer and guitarist James Mattock says serves as an anthem for people who might be seen as social outcasts. "'Arcane Effigies' is about considering those who are often oppressed to shy or lonely sensibilities by having their views disdained or ignored by regular society," he says. "As I put in the song, 'shining the sun' down on these kids of situations always feels good backed by loud guitars. There is always a reason to feel good about sitting outside the box of normality."
