Boyz II Men recorded this Babyface/L.A. Reid lament for the Eddie Murphy movie Boomerang, and while recording "End of the Road," they became overwhelmed by emotion. "Guys were, like, crying and everything in the studio," Shawn Stockman of the Philadelphia-based R&B group, said. "Each time we played it and sang it, we got more and more into it," but fellow Boys member Wanya Morris felt there was divinity in the track. "It had to be the Lord that brought us that song and said, 'Here you go, Boyz II Men, here's something to help you blow up,'" he said.
