According to reports, Beyoncé will open the show, and will eventually be joined by Destiny's Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. The trio will perform a short medley of their biggest hits, as well as a new song, "Nuclear," which the group said yesterday would be on an upcoming compilation called Love Songs. Then, Beyoncé will return to center stage solo for the big finale, which is said to include the premiere of a track from her upcoming new album.
In a recent chat with GQ about her forthcoming fifth album, Beyoncé said she's been working with Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, Timbaland and The-Dream. "We all started in the Nineties," she said of herself and her collaborators, "when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us."
There's still no word on a release date for the follow-up to 4, or when Beyoncé will release the record's first single; though The-Dream told Billboard a new tune would drop before her Super Bowl appearance.
