"Chinese Democracy" Promo Videos Flood The Internet

October 20, 2008 2:43 PM ET

A whole bunch of promos for Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy hit the web today. There are 16 in total, each with a 15-second run time, which is just enough to give you a taste of what you can look forward to hearing on November 23rd. "This November. History Will Be Made," the promos announce, "The World Is Watching. The Future Is Ours. This November, America Will Have Finally Have Chinese Democracy." The clips then end with a reminder that the album will exclusively be sold at Best Buy stores. UPDATE: All 16 promos have been removed from YouTube, which suggests that they may not have been legit. Still, the march towards Chinese Democracy continues.

“Wake Up Everybody”

John Legend and the Roots | 2010

A Number One record by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes in 1976 (a McFadden- and Whitehead-penned classic sung by Teddy Pendergrass) inspired the title and lead single from Wake Up!, John Legend's tribute album to message music. The more familiar strains of "Wake Up Everybody" also fit his agenda. "It basically sums up, in a very concise way, all the things we were thinking about when we were putting this record together in that it's about justice, doing the right thing and coming together to make the world a better place," he said. Vocalists Common and Melanie Fiona assist Legend on this mission to connect.
