Boy George Cancels U.S. Tour After Visa Snag

June 24, 2008 10:53 AM ET

Boy George was forced to cancel his U.S. summer tour — his first trek here in over a decade — after failing to secure permission to enter the States. George faces trial in November for charges filed against the Culture Club singer dating back to April of 2007 when an escort accused the Karma Chameleon of holding him against his will, and thus U.S. authorities have denied his visa, even thought British authorities permitted George to travel anywhere after paying his unconditional bail. George is especially disappointed he'll be unable to perform for employees of New York's Department of Sanitation on August 17th, saying he planned the concert "as a way to thank the DSNY and the workers' families for the kindness shown to him during his community service with them in 2006." “You Oughta Know”

Alanis Morissette | 1995

This blunt, bitter breakup song -- famous for its line "Would she go down on you in a theater?" -- was long rumored to be about Alanis Morissette getting dumped by Full House actor Dave Coulier. But while she never confirmed it was about him (Coulier himself says it is, however), she insisted the song wasn't all about scorn. "By no means is this record just a sexual, angry record," she told Rolling Stone. "The song wasn't written for the sake of revenge. It was written for the sake of release. I'm actually a pretty rational, calm person."
