Artist: Companion
Song: "Blue Movie"
Album: Companion
"'Blue Movie' was inspired by a vision I had of someone turning colors in the light of a TV, sleeplessly perched on a motel bed in a dark room, waiting for the morning to come as their partner slept peacefully through the night," Companion's Pepi Ginsberg tells Rolling Stone. "The song intimates at the protagonist being surprised at where she has landed, in a relationship dynamic she did not expect to be in. It becomes evident however that she is fortified by hope that while 'the future's not what it used to be, it is what it is meant to be.'"
