Drake, The Black Keys, Bjork, Lana Del Rey and Deadmau5 will headline the fifth annual Governors Ball at New York's Randall's Island June 5th through 7th. The popular festival will also feature performances by Florence and the Machine, My Morning Jacket, Ryan Adams, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, St. Vincent and "Weird Al" Yankovic.
Other artists scheduled to perform at the three-day festival include Chromeo, Flume, Tame Impala, Ratatat, The Decemberists, The War on Drugs, Hot Chip, Death From Above 1979, Charli XCX, Flying Lotus, Royal Blood, Conor Oberst, Little Dragon, Sharon Van Etten and Mayer Hawthorne.
Last year's festival featured a triumphant homecoming show by the Strokes, the introduction of new material by Spoon and a special guest appearance by Madonna at Disclosure's rambunctious set. Future Coachella headliner Jack White's set remains a festival highlight, as the former White Stripes frontman's headlining set turned into an audience singalong.
The festival will see many artists perform in New York for the first time in years. EDM giant Deadmau5 will be amping up the crowd in his first NYC set in four years., while Bjork, Del Rey and Florence and the Machine all will be hitting a New York stage for the first time since 2012.
While Florence and the Machine haven't officially offered any details on the long-awaited follow-up to 2011's Ceremonials, it appears the band's Governors Ball appearance is another notch in the band's return to the spotlight. As Consequence of Sound noted, the band's fansite posted a photo that appeared to show the group in the post-recording mixing stage of the album, and the group has booked a string of festival appearances, including Coachella and numerous European festivals.
Tickets for Governors Ball are available through the festival's website.
