An impressive roster of artists including Best Coast, the Kills, MGMT, the New Pornographers and ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons have recorded songs for a new tribute to Fleetwood Mac that will hit stores on September 14th, Consequence of Sound reports. Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac was produced by Randall Poster, who recently presided over the Buddy Holly tribute Rave On, which included contributions from Paul McCartney, Fiona Apple, Modest Mouse, the Black Keys and Lou Reed.

The track listing for the set, which you can see below, features songs from all over the Mac catalog, including cuts from the Peter Green era, the band's commercial apex Rumours, the artsy, sprawling Tusk and their Eighties period. One notable inclusion on the record is a special collaboration between Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo and Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis on Peter Green's guitar instrumental "Albatross." Some artists, such as Best Coast and the New Pornographers, have played or recorded other Fleetwood Mac songs in the past, but have selected a different song for this compilation.

“Youth Knows No Pain”

Lykke Li | 2011

“Like on 'Youth Knows No Pain' — we are the ones that should demonstrate, because we can take it,” Likke Li said. “We can pierce ourselves, take Ecstasy, dance all night and still go to work at our McDonald's jobs.” Despite the hedonistic sentiment in the song, the Swedish singer also admitted in hindsight her youth had repercussions. “I remember when I was 18-19 and feeling that I know it all,” Li said. “I always feel that I know it all. But that song is about realizing you don’t, and reflecting, ‘Boy, if I only knew what would follow.’”
