On January 29th, Ben Harper and blues harmonica aficionado Charlie Musselwhite will release their collaborative effort Get Up! on Stax Records/Concord Music Group. For now, you can check out the album cut "I Don't Believe a Word You Say," a scuzzy blues howler that features a breakdown with some tasty dueling guitar and harmonica action.
"Ben and I really locked in, personally and musically, when we recorded with John Lee Hooker," Musselwhite says. "Ever since then, we wanted to record together and being in the studio together is just a natural. You can hear it and feel it in the music on Get Up!"
Harper adds, "Charlie and I have been looking to make this record for over 10 years and now that we've gotten to it, I can't wait to play it live."
