Bastille will release their second LP, Wild World, on September 9th via Virgin Records. The 14-track album, which features five extra tracks on the deluxe edition, follows the London indie-pop quintet's multi-platinum 2013 debut, Bad Blood.
"We have been working nonstop on Wild World for the last few years + are so excited for you to finally hear it in a few months," the band wrote in a statement to fans. "Not long to go! Thank you for all your patience + support. We hope you like the album cover as much as we do … I can't believe we managed to pull it off in spite of everything."
The cover finds two individuals sitting on a ledge perched perilously over a cityscape. "To me, the image isn't about what's just happened or what happens next," says singer-songwriter Dan Smith. "It's not about how they got there or how they get down. It's about sharing a moment – two friends existing in that split second in that exact space, two people framed in the vast context of this huge mad metropolis that we've all built. They're there out of choice."
iTunes pre-orders of Wild World will include an instant download of the LP's lead single, "Good Grief." A surreal, NSFW video for the track features bear costumes, bank robberies, fires and nudity.
Bastille, who were nominated for Best New Artist at last year's Grammy Awards, have tour dates scheduled throughout the summer and fall. The band's next show is July 9th at Perth's T in the Park Festival.
