DJ-producer Avicii will be packing North American arenas this spring with his newly announced #TRUETOUR. The trek will kick off April 10th at the TD Garden in Boston, with a handful of dates scheduled through June.

Avicii's Next Level: Backstage With the Swedish Rave King

The 24 year-old Swedish rave sensation will be playing major venues across North America, including stops in New York City, Phoenix, Chicago, Toronto and Washington D.C. Tickets will be availble through the Live Nation official site and mobile app starting on Friday, January 31st. The tour promises to "showcase an all new, world class production."

Last year, Avicii hit the big time when he released his debut album True, which yielded the massive single "Wake Me Up" – a song that blends glossy EDM beats with a country-folk hook. In addition to the #TRUETOUR dates, he'll also hit the festival circuit this year, including a headlining spot at the Ultra Music Festival Phase 1, which is scheduled for the weekend of March 28th at Bayfront Park in Miami.

The #TRUETOUR North American dates are below. Additional cities are expected to be announced later this year.

4/10 Boston, MA – TD Garden
4/12 Washington D.C. – Jiffy Lube Live
5/8 Phoenix, AZ – Ak-Chin Pavilion
5/11 Houston, TX – Toyota Center
5/15 Chicago, IL – Allstate Arena
5/17 Toronto, ON – Rogers Centre
6/28 Brooklyn, NY – Barclays Center

Song Stories

“Hungry Like the Wolf”

Duran Duran | 1982

This indulgent New Romantic group generated their first U.S. hit with the help of what was at the time new technology. "Simon [Le Bon] and I, I think, had been out the night before and had this terrible hangover," said keyboardist Nick Rhodes. "For some reason we were feeling guilty about it and decided to go and do some work." Rhodes started playing with his Jupiter-8 synth, and then "Simon had an idea for a lyric, and by lunchtime when everyone else turned up, we pretty much had the song." The Simmons drumbeat was equally important to the sound of "Hungry Like the Wolf," as Duran Duran drummer Roger Taylor stated it "kind of defined the drum sound for the Eighties."
