AutoFail: Grandmaster Flash Dominates Grandmas' Facebook Statuses

When Facebook messages go wrong

There are roughly 914 reasons why grandparents shouldn't have Facebook accounts (see: botched photo captions, awkward comments unrelated to original post), but the latest example is more hilarious than infuriating. As gloriously compiled by the Tumblr account Love, Grampa and Grandmaster Flash, a lot of grandmas have been accidentally tagging that hip-hop pioneer in their Facebook statuses via the pesky Autofill feature.

Check out some of the evidence below. (Sorting through the face-palm-worthy grandma posts on Grandmaster Flash's Facebook is a decent way to spend an afternoon.)

Now that the Tumblr account has gone viral, the 56-year-old Grandmaster has been made hip to the trend – and he even weighed in on the hilarity.
Back in 2012, the Roots producer-drummer Questlove compiled a list of his Top 50 Hip-Hop Songs of All Time, which included the group's 1981 track, "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel."

"My dad would often offer his two cents, shaking his head in disappointment with that jigga-jigga-jigga noise he was hearing," Quest wrote. "He added in that I needed to "spend more time on them drums instead of destroying all them good records," 'cause "ain't no future in these records people done already made." I should be making music instead, 'cause "there ain't a living spinning other people's music." Oh, little did you know, Dad. Little did you know."

It remains unclear whether Uncle Cracker or Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins have been affected by the autofill plague.
