The singer was arrested in May on charges of soliciting the murder of his wife, Meggan Lambesis. Meggan filed for divorce last year after receiving an email from her husband saying the he no longer loved her. She later learned that he was also having an affair.

Lambesis allegedly paid an undercover officer $1,000 in cash to kill his wife. The rocker provided photos, her address and security codes to gain access to her home, as well as dates that he would be with their adopted children in order to secure an alibi.

Lambesis has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he faces up to nine years in prison.

“Long Walk Home”

Bruce Springsteen | 2007

When the subject of this mournful song returns home, he hardly recognizes his town. Springsteen told Rolling Stone the alienation the man feels is a metaphor for life in a politically altered post-9/11 America. “Who would have ever thought we’d live in a country without habeas corpus?” he said. “That’s Orwellian. That’s what political hysteria is about and how effective it is. I felt it in myself. You get frightened for your family, for your home. And you realize how countries can move way off course, very far from democratic ideals.”
