"'Argonauts' was one of the first songs that we wrote using a whole different musical palette than we were accustomed to. We recorded a demo of the song using only electronic elements then decided to record and experiment with live instruments," The Little Ones' Edward Reyes tells Rolling Stone. "However, after listening to the various recordings we decided to keep the original demo intact and just build upon it. Thematically,  the song really represents The Little Ones' journey."
