20. Darkthrone, 'The Underground Resistance'
After you make a couple of the genre-defining black metal albums (A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Transilvanian Hunger) you can do whatever your corpse-painted ass wants. And what drummer/yeller Fenriz and guitarist/yeller Nocturno Culto have done of late is blend blackened fury with the beloved subgenres of their youth: crust punk, Motorhead. On their 16th album (no, really), they resurrect the glory days of NWOBHM bombast, hitting the high notes and making something worth breaking out your denim vest for.
