The consolation prize for Sonic Youth's evaporation has been a flurry of cool solo projects, the most surprising being Ranaldo's. Exhibit A is this comfort-food, Who-flavored jam down, a reminder he was always the classic rock counterbalance to Thurston and Kim's avant-gardening.
