• SXSW Suspect Faces Four New Charges

    Four new assault charges have been filed against Rashad Charjuan Owens in connection with the hit-and-run incident that killed four people and injured 17 at South By Southwest in March. The Austin American Statesman reports that the four new charges are related to injuries ranging from scratches to a fractured neck. The most serious injuries of the new counts were those of 18-year-old high school student Mason Endres, who has endured a lengthy hospital stay including two rounds of surgery. ...  | More »

    Rashad Charjuan Owens, currently facing two capital murder charges and multiple accounts of aggravated assault after a hit-and-run at South By Southwest in Austin, now faces 20 new counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and could be slapped with more charges before his case goes to trial, the Statesman reports.     Tyler, the Creator was arrested in Austin on Saturday for allegedly inciting a riot during South by Southwest, the Associated Press reports. Police told the news agency that during a performance on Thursday, the Odd Future rapper had exhorted fans to push their way past employees controlling entrance to the venue, which was already at capacity.
