One of the highlights of Coachella's first week was when French electronic duo Justice took the main stage on Sunday evening, just after sundown. Gaspard Auge and Xavier De Rosnay played for tens of thousands of fans who yelled in excitement as their trademark giant cross surfaced onstage. They'll repeat the scene at the festival's second go-round this weekend, and again in August at Lollapalooza. "It's amazing for a little band like us, while under the radar still, to be...  | More »

Black Sabbath will headline this year's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, marking their only North American gig of 2012. The band was reportedly tapped to headline Coachella at one point, but had to pull out when Tony Iommi was diagnosed with lymphoma.  Even Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell was doubtful that Sabbath would be able to join the fest, which will take place on August 3rd-5th. "Every festival in the world wanted Black Sabbath to perform, but at the time of the ann...  | More »

    August 8, 2011 10:30 AM ET

Festivals used to just be all about the music...and the social experience, the tent cities, the traffic jams and perhaps even braving the elements. In this video footage from Lollapalooza, Rolling Stone paired Michelin-approved chef Graham Elliot with the Roots’ ?uestlove for a gastronomic tour of the festival’s food court, Chow Town, which focused on local delicacies. "I'm about to go back for...  | More »

Folk-rock singer Grace Potter has written a Christmas song, "Naughty, Naughty Children," and will lend her voice talents to a character on Prep & Landing, an upcoming Disney special to air on ABC around the holidays. "I don’t want to excite people too much because I literally don’t say a word, I make noises," Potter tells Rolling Stone. "Actually, it’s the best way to become a cartoon voice ever because I didn’t have to nail my lines or worry about diction. My cha...  | More »

  • Strokes, Gaga Take Lollapalooza

    September 2, 2010 4:05 PM ET
     |  Gus Wenner

As the sun set on the first night of Lollapalooza, 90,000 concertgoers were forced to make a tough decision: whether to watch Lady Gaga's bombastic, elaborately produced performance at the south end of Chicago's Grant Park or nab a spot by the stage a mile away, where the Strokes would be playing their first U.S. show in more than four years. "It's sort of like the Beatles versus the Rolling Stones," said Metric singer Emily Haines, as she pushed through a throng of VIPs...  | More »
