On tonight's (May 11th) episode of the ABC musical drama, Nashville, Connie Britton's character will sing a tune written by another award-winning actress, Rita Wilson. "Strong Tonight" is a musical hall pass for those tired of "keeping it together" — which seems tailor-made for "Rayna Jaymes," the show's leading lady who is going through a family crisis.
Wilson, who co-wrote the song with seasoned hitmakers Blair Daly and Kelly Archer, is a huge fan of Nashville. "I joke about stalking that show, but I do," she tells Rolling Stone Country. "I have this whole storyline in my head about a friend [Rayna] goes out on the road with, and I play that character. But in the meantime, 'Strong Tonight' has been selected to be on the show. . . and I'm super excited about that!"
"Strong Tonight" is featured on Wilson's self-titled album, which hit stores back in March and marks her debut as a songwriter. The actress-singer, who co-wrote all 15 tracks on the project, is currently on tour. Check out cities and dates here.
