Back in July, Vans and Metallica announced that they would be collaborating on two pairs of sneakers for next spring. Now a third design has joined the pack, KicksOnFire.com reports.

The designs will be released next year to coordinate with the 30th anniversary of the metal heroes' first album, Kill 'Em All. The first two designs feature the hand-and-hammer motif seen on the record's cover. The new shoe is detailed with a stylized tongue tag and lyrics –  the promotional shot shows the embossed line "Those who tell you not to take chances" from the track "Motorbreath" – and is created in the Vans Half Cab silhouette.

Called the Vans x Metallica 20th Anniversary Half Cab Pro, the new shoe is slated to hit skate shops in October. A four-piece "Passion Project" collection designed by the members of Metallica will follow in February, and the initial Kill 'Em All pack will be available in March.

"I've been wearing Vans onstage my whole freakin' career, and way before that," Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo said in a statement. His co-designer, professional skater Steve Caballero, added, "To have Metallica, my all-time favorite metal band, collaborating with me on this 20th anniversary Half Cab shoe is an honor and a dream come true."

Metallica aren't the only musicians who have dabbled in the shoe game recently: Madonna launched her line of "Truth or Dare" shoes in August, while Kanye West recently designed a heel for Australian designer Dion Lee's fall collection.
