This week's New Music Report focuses on the woman who managed to finally end Susan Boyle's reign atop the charts: 22-year-old California singer Ke$ha. Rolling Stone's Kevin O'Donnell says her debut Animal doesn't stray from the in-your-face vibe of her smash single "TiK ToK." It's an LP of fun, amped up dance tracks with titles like "Your Love Is My Drug" and "Party at a Rich Dude's House" that also features a team-up with 3OH!3 on an Auto-Tune-heavy cut called "Blah Blah Blah." Her batty speak-singing is stronger than her belting voice, but Ke$ha's got Dr. Luke and Max Martin on her team — hitmakers who've given big singles to Kelly Clarkson — and the album is packed with catchy hooks that'll get stuck in your head for days.
