When our eyes locked on a specific image on Twitter (which now only appears on People), our first thought was "Is this Billy Corgan making progress on the new Smashing Pumpkins album?" Upon further review, however, we're instead wondering "Is this Billy Corgan making progress on the new Jessica Simpson album?" Considering the photo all but confirms that we exist in a world where it's possible that the Pumpkins frontman and the Newlyweds star are dating (though Star says they split due to "religious differences"), the idea of Corgan writing music for Simpson is suddenly and frighteningly possible. This is even stranger than that time Corgan refused to get vaccinated for swine flu.
The snapshot was reportedly taken while Corgan and Simpson were in the studio with producer Kerry Brown, who has been helping Corgan and the Pumpkins work on their massive "Teargarden By Kaleidyscope," according to a series of Twitter messages between @Jessicasimpson and @studiodog (Brown). Simpson herself posted the image and another of her and Corgan on her Twitter page, relaying strange words of encouragement during the recording session. According to photographer Kristen Burns' Twitter (where some of the images were posted, too), Jessica and Billy were working on the song together, so who knows if a collaboration is in these lovebirds' (or maybe friends') future.
