"American Idol" Scandals Surface Near End of Semifinal Rounds

American Idol Top Sixteen semifinalist David Hernandez will not be kicked off the show, despite the recent revelation that the twenty-four-year-old singer was previously an all-nude exotic dancer at a male strip club until September 2007. The story was first reported by infamous Idol-hating site Vote For the Worst, which posted pictures of Hernandez working at a Phoenix gay nightclub called Burn, and then alleged Hernandez also stripped at a male club appropriately called Dick's Cabaret.

Despite the minor controversy, a source at Fox tells Us that Hernandez will not be tossed off the show, though producers have yet to issue a formal statement. A similar scandal hit the show in 2003, when Frenchie Davis was booted from competition after some topless photos appeared on an adult Web site; last season provocative pictures of Antonella Barba surfaced online. Only Davis, however, was ejected from competition, a revelation that has some Idol watchers crying foul.

Yesterday, Vote for the Worst also posted a Christmas video shot by an angsty teenage Danny Noriega, who tells viewers he hopes their mothers get raped by Santa. The site also highlighted a TMZ report that rock & roll nurse Amanda Overmeyer was busted for a DUI in 2006.
