A Herd of "Wild Horses": Susan Boyle and More Cover the Classic

The Guinness Book of World Records says the Beatles' "Yesterday" is the most-covered song in history. If that's the case, the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses" has to be a close second. America's Got Talent announced recently that Britain's Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle will take the stage at the season finale to perform "Wild Horses," a cover that will also appear on her debut album I Dreamed a Dream. Boyle joins a long list of artists like Eddie Vedder, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow and countless more who have performed a rendition of the Sticky Fingers ballad.

Fittingly, the first time "Wild Horses" appeared on record, it wasn't even recorded by the Stones: Gram Parsons, then of the Flying Burrito Brothers and a good friend of Mick and Keith, recorded the Richards/Jagger song for his band's 1970 album Burrito Deluxe, introducing it to music fans a year before Sticky Fingers was released. Still, it's the Rolling Stones' version that has become a classic rock staple to this day, and continues to be a constant go-to cover for dozens of artists.

Rolling Stone has scoured YouTube to find literally a stable of the best "Wild Horses" covers, from the Flying Burrito Brothers to GNR to the Sundays to Dave Matthews and many more. Check below for your viewing pleasure, and hit up the comments to tell us your favorites.
