Van Morrison

Van Morrison

Van Morrison is an enigma shrouded in Celtic garb. An often cranky introvert who rarely gives interviews, he's also an incredibly passionate and distinct vocalist whose concerts can generate serious heat. He’s an Irish poet in love with all sorts of bedrock American music — particularly jazz, blues, and country — and artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, and Bono have cited him as a huge influence. Whether swaggering and flamboyant or quiet and elliptical, there’s always an emotional candor in Van Morrison’s singing.
