'Glee' Goes 'Grease' With 'You're the One That I Want' - Premiere

Singing students pay tribute to 'Grease' in new episode

When it comes to reappropriating American classics for primetime entertainment, Glee has got it down pat. From Alice Cooper to Aerosmith, from Van Halen to Vanilla Ice, they've covered it. It's no surprise, then, that next week's episode will pay tribute to Grease, the original American high school musical, complete with some seriously slicked-back hair, an inordinate number of leather jackets and all sorts of Seventies swag. In "You're the One That I Want," an homage to the enthusiasm of teenage romance, the cast of Glee takes their cues from John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John and tints their voices with equal parts sexiness and desperation, hinting that having a high school crush is as maddening in 2012 as it was in 1978.

Glease the album will be available for purchase on iTunes on November 6th. The episode airs on November 15th.
