Back with their first album since 1996, Soundgarden celebrated by storming through the muscular single "Been Away Too Long" last night on the Late Show With David Letterman. The Seattle rockers surrounded themselves with thick waves of overdriven guitar powered by a fast, loose rhythm and Chris Cornell's high-octane rock & roll yowl. The album, King Animal, is out today.
