Ron Burgundy Sings Loverboy for His 'Dear Friend' Rob Ford
'He's an outstanding individual,' he proclaimed on 'Conan'

Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford may be skating on thin ice in Canada, but, thankfully, he's got an ally in Ron Burgundy. The Anchorman hero, played by Will Ferrell, showed up on Conan last night, where he declared Ford his "dear friend" and "an outstanding individual." The bit continued, with Burgundy even claiming that Ford had asked him to sing his re-election campaign theme song, a reworking of a hit by "one of his favorite bands from Calgary."

Burgundy then busted out Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend," complete, of course, with a sweet flute solo to counterbalance his gruff delivery. Anchorman 2 is set to hit theaters on December 20th and the promotional wheel is turning daily. Recently, the Newseum announced that they'd be featuring an Anchorman exhibit and Emerson College is renaming their school of communication after Burgundy, albeit for one day only.
