New 'Walking Dead' Series Launches on AMC Website
'The Oath' takes places before TV series' first episode

Zombie fans, your appetite has been fed: AMC just released a new web series based on The Walking Dead. The Oath is made up of three episodes, directed by co-executive producer Greg Nicotero and sheds new light on the first episode of the series.

Why 'The Walking Dead' and 12 Other Shows Are the Ones to Watch This Fall

In The Oath, Karina and Paul are the sole survivors of a massive Walker attack at their camp; they barely escape, but not without injury. Paul is in desperate need of medical attention and the duo end up at what appears to be an abandoned hospital. The two come across a doctor, Gale, who seems to have her wits about her until she shoves Paul into a room with a sign reading "Cafeteria." As it turns out, Gale has been overseeing the hospital with her own gory agenda.

The hospital is the same site that Rick wakes up in following his monthlong coma on the first episode of the TV series. Is it a creepy coincidence or a crucial Walking plot link? Apocalypse fans will have to decide for themselves.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 13th.
