The Veronica Mars fans who pledged nearly $6 million on Kickstarter earlier this year to make a movie out of the TV show – a campaign that set a record for the crowd-funding site – keep getting rewarded.
The movie's producers have emailed those supporters a new, four-minute documentary-style clip from the film, which follows the series' cancellation in 2007 and the sneak peek shown at Comic-Con, according to E!. In the short film, actress Kristen Bell (who plays the film's title character) explains the basis of the plot and gives plenty of updates on its characters.
She begins by explaining that Veronica has moved to New York, where she's dating Stosh "Piz" Piznarski, played by actor Chris Lowell. While there, she discovers that her old love interest, Logan Echolls (actor Jason Dohring), has been charged with murder. After they get in contact, he asks her for help so she returns to the series' setting of Neptune, California.
Because Veronica is now caught in a love triangle, actors in the movie's cast also give their thoughts in the clip on who she should end up with. It's safe to say they don't all see eye-to-eye. From there, the staff and crew discuss the repercussions of a serious relationship with each, right down to their sexual chemistry.
The Veronica Mars movie is slated to come out in spring 2014.
