Blake Shelton responded to Simon Cowell's recent diatribe against The Voice for expanding its premiere week to overlap with last night's X factor premiere, telling Access Hollywood, "I normally don't react to things that Simon has to say about The Voice. He's been doing it since the show came on the air." Shelton added: "Every time I turn around the guy is mouthing off!"
Last week, Cowell called NBC's programming decision "a cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business" that would force fans to pick between the two shows, and further fuel the rivalry between between Voice coach Christina Aguilera and new X Factor judge Britney Spears.
"Britney's not going to appreciate the fact that Christina – who has been a bit of a rival – isn't allowing Britney to have a night of her own," Cowell said.
Still, Shelton shrugged off Cowell's rebuffs, joking: "Don't y'all wish y'all had time to bitch and moan like that guy?"
