The Lonely Island unveiled the latest trailer for upcoming mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, starring Andy Samberg as bad boy pop singer Conner4Real looking to save his career after his second album bombs.
"Out of four possible stars, Rolling Stone has given it the shit emoji. So, mixed. Let's call it mixed reviews," Conner says of his new LP. (Rolling Stone actually hands out album reviews on a five-star system, as evidenced most recently by Beyoncé's Lemonade.)
The trailer is filled with jokes about the music industry from onstage holograms to parasitic posses to over-the-top concert antics. When a stage gaffe goes awry and Conner is left naked in front of the crowd for 10 seconds, he yells at his manager (played by Tim Meadows): "That's a third of the way to Mars!" He's then informed that 30 Seconds to Mars is a band name, not the actual flight time to the red planet.
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping hits theaters June 3rd.
