Watch Danny Fields Create Punk Rock in New 'Danny Says' Trailer
Watch 'Danny Says' trailer, a documentary on music manager/publicist/writer Danny Fields, who worked with everyone from the Ramones to Jim Morrison.

When Alice Cooper says you're "at the pulse of the underground," you're at the pulse of the underground. Nobody challenges that.

That's how the rock legend describes music-industry legend Danny Fields, the subject of the trailer for the new documentary Danny Says. The documentary, which premiered at SXSW last year, chronicles Fields' life, and examines his context in the rock history books — as Iggy Pop puts it, "Danny's a connector, he's a fuel line, a place where things are liable to erupt."

"He's been a handmaiden to the gods...some of the most important people in music," Hedwig and the Angry Inch creator John Cameron Mitchell attests. And as the trailer suggests, without Fields, America never gets hip to the Velvet Underground, Jim Morrison never attains teen heartthrob status, a strung-out Iggy never gets his act together long enough to write "I Wanna Be Your Dog," and punk as we know it ceases to exist.

Danny Says hits theaters on September 30th.
