Nothing brings a couple together like toppling a Nazi stronghold with a hail of gunfire – that's the takeaway from the tense new trailer for 'Allied,' the upcoming WWII thriller starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard. The film casts the A-list stars as undercover operatives Max Vatan and Marianne Beausejour, who the trailer shows meeting during a perilous, explosion-filled mission in North Africa.

Naturally, the couple falls in love and gets hitched in London, though a graver threat than World War II soon threatens the duo: Max's military superiors have reason to believe his new bride may be a Nazi spy. The trailer then shifts from war epic to sexy psychothriller as the agent waits out the 72-hour period until the intel comes in proving that his wife is innocent or guilty. "Is this a game? A test?" Max yells. "Everything is a test," comes the reply.

Allied comes to theaters November 23rd.
