The award-winning HBO series Treme will kick off its final run of five episodes beginning December 1st on HBO. The new mini-season will pick up in November 2008 with the historic election of President Barack Obama and carry through to Mardi Gras 2009, as the city of New Orleans juggles the hope of the new presidential administration with the community's ongoing difficulties in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Wendell Pierce, Khandi Alexander, Steve Zahn, Melissa Leo and the rest of the ensemble cast will be back for the show's fourth season, and special "culinary guest actors" will include star chefs David Chang and Emeril Lagasse. Co-created by David Simon and Eric Overmyer (both of The Wire), Treme will continue to showcase local musicians, including Trombone Shorty, Kermit Ruffins, Terence Blanchard and Dr. John.

The show has been noted for its accurate portrayal of a culturally rich city that has often been the subject of fictional interpretation, but has seldom felt adequately represented.
