Tracy Morgan has landed the lead role in a new single-camera comedy series pilot for FX. The 30 Rock star has joined Death Pact, where he will play a lackadaisical weed dealer and assistant high school coach who returns home as a celebrated war hero. Morgan's character will reconnect with three friends and former students who have fallen onto hard times, and push them to better themselves with his new ideas of self-help. But failure will bring them extreme consequences.

Production of Death Pact's pilot is set for this summer in New York or New Jersey. The show has brought some star power behind the scenes as well: Cheers executive producer Rob Long and The Long Weekend writer Tad Safran are the co-creators of the series, and will also serve as executive producers. Two and a Half Men executive producers Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum have also joined as executive producers.
