AMC has renewed the The Walking Dead for another gruesome, zombie-filled season, a move the network's own president Charlie Collier called "one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever," TV Line reports. Season four showrunner Scott Gimple will continue at the leading the zombie troops each week.
Indeed the news of a fifth season should come as no surprise to fans of the hit show, whose recent season four premiere drew a record-breaking 16.1 million viewers -- and became the biggest non-sports telecast to hit cable, ever.
For the time being, you check out highlights from our recent cover story on The Walking Dead and keep tabs on all the latest zombie madness with our weekly recaps. In celebration of the show's fourth season, we also published a bevy of interviews with cast and crew members, including stars Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan, and David Morrissey, makeup whiz Greg Nicotero and the franchise's creator Robert Kirkman.
