A production of Matt Stone and Trey Parker's Tony Award-winning musical The Book of Mormon is set to open in Chicago next year. Representatives of the show have confirmed that the 12-week engagement in Chicago will be a separate production from the national tour of the show, which will begin in Denver on August 14th.
"We plan to be involved every step of the way just as we were on the Broadway production," Parker and Stone said in a statement. "We're incredibly excited about doing everything we can to deliver a great show for the Chicago audience."

The Book of Mormon has been sold out for months in New York, so this new run of shows in Chicago will give many theatergoers an opportunity to catch the show, which has earned near universal acclaim since opening on Broadway in March.
