The Last Chance Gas Station from the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a key setting in the 1974 horror classic where Leatherface murdered a carload of teenagers, will soon be the home of a different kind of carnage, as the building is in the process of being restored as a BBQ joint. In a nod to the cult film, the new business – which will retain the same appearance as Texas Chain Saw Massacre – will operate under the name We Slaughter Barbecue, Hitfix reports.

The Bastrop, Texas business will also double as a music venue and a motel, owner Roy Rose told KXAN. "We're going to build a horror barbecue resort," Rose said. "We're going to put cabins in the back for all the fans who want to come and stay the night." We Slaughter Barbecue will also boast a shop featuring memorabilia from Tobe Hooper's groundbreaking horror flick. Ari Lehman, the actor who played Jason Voorhes in the original Friday the 13th, has signed on as a We Slaughter investor.

We Slaughter has frequently provided updates on the Last Chance Gas Station's restoration on Facebook. "We are restoring the Smoker House saved as much original wood as possible, added some from another barn that had fallen down... Put concrete underneath... This time the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Gas Station is being restored in a correct [manner]… Looks awesome… Let me tell ya chainsaw fans," the page promises.

The BBQ joint is on pace to open in July.
